Galaxy Trucktris

Made in Gamemaker Studio 2 for the Autumn 2019 Game Dev Club game jam. 

I was greatly inspired by the board game Galaxy Trucker where you have to build a spaceship from a pile of garbage and then watch it fall apart as you try to pilot it through space. Combine that idea with the jam's theme of Retro and you get Galaxy Trucktris!

In Galaxy Trucktris pieces of your spaceship fall down one by one like Tetris and you have to try to make a fly-able and defendable spaceship by the time they stack all the way up to the top. You then get to watch your spaceship get pummeled by space rocks as you try to figure out which button to press to make your ship move forward! Good luck and happy trucking!
